Intelligent Devices and Delcan (www.delcan.com) have jointly announced the launch of Intelligent NETworks. This software product combines the best of both worlds: Intelligent Devices’ Intelligent Control product suite combined with Delcan’s NETworks web based Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) software.
Intelligent Devices have traditionally focused on NTCIP device control with sophisticated and rich features for the operator, maintenance personnel and administrator built into the Intelligent Control product suite. In recent years, this technology has been expanded into systems such as snow plow management for South Dakota DOT and Intelligent Parking (www.intelligentparking.com)
Delcan has traditionally focused on large scale customized ATMS deployments for statewide and large metropolitan agencies. This expertise has been captured into the NETworks product. This WEB based product has achieved success in a number of deployments, including Nebraska and New Hampshire.
Combining these two products into a common software platform and product offering results in a world leading system with the strong NTCIP based communication engine from IDI combined with the WEB presentation layer and traffic engine from Delcan.
IDI is re-branding Intelligent Control with the updated Intelligent NETworks user interface and combining the WEB functionality with the client-sever features to make an unbeatable software offering in the ATMS arena. This includes 18 different software modules including the Signal Control module. The software is scalable from a single lap-top to the largest multi-server statewide deployment.
Initial deployments are planned for Minneapolis Transit Commuter Information System and the Michigan statewide ATMS.
